Building Inspector
Town Hall
16 School St.
Allenstown, NH
603-485-4276 ext. 113

Check town web site for current business hours.

The Building Inspector provides help for contractors and property owners with the process of applying for a building permit. During construction, the inspector provides guidance as to how to comply with building codes. At the end of construction, the inspector examines the work and issues a report stating that the work is complete and up to code or that deficiances need to be corrected.

Applying for a Building Permit

To apply for a building permit for commercial or residential construction, remodeling, plumbing work, electrical work, or any other type of work, go to the Online Permit Engine, select the type of permit, fill in the Sign Up page to create an account, and then fill in the rest of the online form.

For a housing development or a commercial or industrial property, you will have to go before the Zoning Board and then the Planning Board for approvals.

If you have difficulty with an online form, contact either Ken Paul or Dawna Baxter at the Building Dept. for help.

Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer

The Building Inspector operates part-time from the Allenstown Fire Station. He works full time for the town of Belmont, so it is best to contact Dawna Baxter with any building permit questions.
