March 2016 was Town Election Season. For candidates and warrant articles, use the links at the bottom. This year there were several problems:
  • The Town Clerk/Tax Collector has taken legal action after the selectmen unilaterally took away 32 hours/week and reassigned it to a new, unwarranted, appointed position of municipal agent. See the Town Clerk dispute.
  • The Budget Committee added to the town budget so that a proposed 3% decrease became a 1% increase. See the Town Warrant Articles.
  • The Budget Committee added to the school budget so that the proposed amount is $195,000 more than last year. At the Deliberative Session, voters went on a guilt trip and added another $78,000 for a school resource officer. See the School Warrant Articles.
  • Warrant articles that added to capital reserve funds provide insufficient information to make an informed decision.
