Upper Deerfield Rd. Paving Project. At the June 5 Selectmen's meeting, the Board accepted the bid from Advanced Excavating Co. as the best choice. This is the same company that the state hired to pave the first 2 1/2 miles of Deerfield Rd. last summer. The bids were $59,616 for Phase I and $123,650 for Phase II. Mr. Mulholland was directed to draft a contract to issue to Advanced Excavating.
(Aug. 11, 2017) Paving work was scheduled to start on Monday, June 19, but was delayed while bids were being evaluated. The road sign now states Aug. 14 as the new start date.
(Aug. 16, 2017) For one day, the upper end of the road was ground down to the gravel and looked like the original road back in the 1940s. Repaving started near Mt. Delight Rd. and ended past Podunk Rd. at the stone post across from house no. 298.
