Town Hall Check town web site for current business hours. Featuring a Portable Wood-Fired Pizza OvenUpdated: July 10, 2020 Dateline: June 19, 2020
This business was purchased in August 2019 from its previous owner in Tuftonboro, which included the brick oven, the business name, and other collateral. It is now under new Italian management in Allenstown. After a few months of not operating due to the virus pandemic, they are open again. Flame Mobile Pizza Oven is a home business located at 223 River Road. This is on the north end of River Rd. between Harness Horse Rd. and the State Highway Garage. Current days and hours open are Fridays 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This unique business uses a wood-fired brick oven to cook the pizzas. It looks like very much like an igloo with a smoke stack a very hot igloo. The menu includes everything from your basic cheese pie to Chicken Broccoli Alfredo, Chicken Bacon Ranch, and Barbecued Chicken. Check their web site for prices.
This family operation is run by Rhonda Gelinas, who is assisted by daughters, Felicia and Tarah, "Madre Superiore" Theresa Desmond, and Pepperoni Pizza Boy, Lucas Honeyman. Rhonda's fiance, Jeff Fleury cleared 4 1/2 acres of the property for future development and helped Rhonda's daughter's cut and split wood for the Pizza Oven.
Their current Peddler's License limits service to four days per month but Ms. Gelinas said they are working on satisfying the zoning requirements for increased hours.
The plan is to expand operations to include onsite and offsite catering for weddings, private parties, farmers' markets, and festivals. They also hope to host community events and become a destination getaway. This is their mission statement: To serve the community with love and great food, to capture your heart and fill every event with the utmost professionalism, to serve quality food, to provide your guests with the ambience of the amazing hand-crafted brick oven, and to make experiences and memories wherever we land. From our family to yours. Food is where the heart is. As a new business, this adds to the economic successes for Allenstown. |
