On July 18, 2015, the Old Allenstown Meeting House Committee celebrated the 200th anniversary of the Old Allenstown Meeting House (aka the OAMH). Constructed in 1815 as a place for town meetings and as a house of worship, the Old Allenstown Meeting House has narrowly escaped destruction on three occasions: once from a hurricane, and twice from fires. Currently, its maintenance and preservation is within the purview of the OAMH Committee. During the summer and on special occasions, the building is open for visitors. On a selected Monday in June, the Board of Selectmen hold a public meeting at the meeting house. On November 15, 2019, after receiving approval from the State Division of Historic Resources, a new 50-year metal roof was installed. See the story in the Allenstown Alt New Archives.
