The Allenstown Economic Development Committee (EDC) announced the Second Annual Halloween Lighting Contest this season. There are many people who love to decorate their homes in the Fall, so here is an opportunity to be part of a special townwide event as part of the EDC Community Initiatives. Here is the schedule of activities:
Winners will be announced and prizes awarded at the Awards Ceremony at Blueberry Express Park (Town Hall lawn) on Saturday, October 30th at 4:00 p.m. Awards for the Best Halloween Decorations are to include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies and gift certificates to local businesses. Halloween is on Sunday October 31st and we hope the powers that be do not prohibit kids from trick-or-treating. What You Need to DoFirst, starting on October 1st, you need to register your Allenstown home. Send an e-mail to the Halloween Contest Registration Address. Include your name, address, and a photo of your decorations. The photo is required so that others can preview your decorations and then find them after dark. Second, from Oct. 1 till October 15, residents should keep checking the Halloween Lighting Contest web page to see photos of the homes that are participating in the contest. Drive around town, check them out, and decide which one you like the most. Third, from Oct. 15 till Oct. 29, send e-mail with your name and your vote to the Halloween Contest Voting Address. You may vote for your own decorations since that guarantees you at least one vote. Fourth, come to the Halloween Lighting Awards Ceremony on the Town Hall lawn on Saturday, October 30th at 4:00 p.m. and celebrate! Awards will be announced for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
