Town Hall Check town web site for current business hours. Homemade Baked Goods on SaleDateline: June 9, 2023 Friday June 30th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.Old Allenstown Meeting House, 150 Deerfield Rd. The Allenstown Historical Society (AHS) is holding its fabulous Annual Bake Sale to support its mission of preserving the meeting house as a historic and public resource and for other AHS projects. It was built between 1815 and 1821 as a place for religious services and town business meetings. It is still in use today. The fresh baked goods are being donated by members and friends of the Society and will be on display inside the Meeting House. Members of the Historical Society will be on hand to answer questions about the building's history. On the menu are mouth-watering treats like pies, muffins, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, and possibly some breads. The Meeting House is located at 150 Deerfield Road across from the Burgin Family Cemetery and just before the junction of New Rye Rd.
What You Can DoIf you would like to contribute some baked goods for the sale, or place an order in advance for some baked goods, call Claudette at 603-485-4437. If you live in this neck of the woods, stop by and scoop up some tasty baked goods for your Independence Dayget together. Or just hop in the car and take a short trip into the park to pick up something for dessert or to take to a party. If you are heading to the campground, stop and get a treat to make your visit extra special. This will also give you an opportunity to step back in time and look around the interior of Allenstown's original meeting house. Try sitting on the bench seats. They were built before ergonomics became fashionable. |
