Advanced EMTs and Firefighters
Starting Soon

Dateline: May. 8, 2024

Fire Chief Eric Lambert provided the following updates.
"Four new full-time people are to start on May 28th for training and will be ready for shift work by mid-June. They come from experienced backgrounds and two of them come from in-house! All of them are to be cross-trained as Advanced EMTs and Firefighters."

As for the second ambulance that was on order, Chief Eric Lambert had previously stated that, "We are awaiting a chassis for the ambulance, which is to be built with a delivery date of early 2025. When our vendor receives the chassis, they will start building the ambulance body. There was a scheduling delay due to a shortage of chassis at all the vendors."

All this effort is being made in preparation for by the planned July 1st departure from Tri-Town EMS.

At the selectmen's May 6 meeting, Chief Lambert announced that the vendor finally found a suitable, complete Ford chassis which would be shipped to the vendor who would build the ambulance. He also noted that he would be attending the July 1st meeting with Tri-Town EMS to review the final list of assets to be divided between the two towns. The selectmen authorized him to sign off on that list. He also explained that any cash assets would go into a revolving fund for future ambulance needs.
