A Good Day to Play Ball

Dateline: Sep. 30, 2024

The 2024 Vintage Base Ball Game sponsored by the Allenstown Historical Society (AHS) on September 22nd was a great success. The opening of the event featured Olivia Conway of Pembroke singing the National Anthem.

The game itself was fun to watch and the Allenstown Firefighters Association did a great job serving food for the fans.

The staff at Pine Haven Boys Center had prepared the playing field to make it comfortable for the players and fans. The turnout was a little lower than AHS had hoped, possibly due to another ball game at Volunteers Park.

The teams played one game which lasted close to two hours. The final score was 5 to 3 with the Maine Dirigos coming out ahead of the Mudville Base Ball team.
