Looks Like a New Store

Dateline: Aug. 21, 2020

Last week, Jay Patel and his wife, Kunal, the owners of the Suncook River Convenience Store on Route 28 undertook a major upgrade to the property. This is the store that was totally renovated last July by LaPlante Builders. Back then the Patels made the decision to invest in the store because they loved the Allenstown community and thus decided to completely renovate the building and continue to serve their large loyal customer base.

This time they decided to renovate the entire paved area around the store. The concrete contractor, CJD Dirtworks from Deerfield, was brought in to remove the broken and fragmented concrete pad that covered the gasoline tanks. The next photo shows the pad with the old concrete removed and ready for fresh "mud." Notice the condition of the surrounding pavement.

Next they poured and leveled the fresh concrete and allowed it to harden before the next contractor came in.

Advanced Excavating of Allenstown arrived early one morning, ground down all the old asphalt, and laid down a new layer of pavement. They were able to complete the project on the same day. As you can see, it now looks like a brand new store.

Several days later, Advanced Excavating returned to stripe the parking spaces. That was the finishing touch.

What You Can Do

Stop at the store and thank the Patels for investing in Allenstown and doing their part to promote our economic revitalization. And be sure to support all our other local businesses.
