Please take a more active interest in what goes on in your town. If you missed the filing deadline, you could have had your friends write in your name. We need more people who are willing scrutinize the town and sewer budgets and look for ways to minimize spending and maximize revenue.

Comment Karen Asselin
My name is Karen Asselin and I am running for Sewer Commissioner in Allenstown. I am not a politician, I am a concerned citizen and I want to help the town prosper and that can only be done by citizens becoming involved in local government.

I am not promising you that I have all the answers but I can promise that I will take this position seriously and use common sense to continue the good work that has been done by the previous commissioners.
My primary goals will be to maintain current rates and be proactive in the repair and maintenance of the collection system.

Thank you for your consideration and hopefully your vote on March 10th 2020.

Comment Alan Turcotte
My name is Alan Turcotte and I am running for Allenstown Sewer Commissioner. I have lived in Allenstown since 1976, and have been responsible for the operations at the Allenstown Transfer Station for the past eleven years.

I am honored to have served as your state legislator for the past eight years, which has been beneficial working on bills that comes through the state house that pertain to the Allenstown Sewer Plant.

I want to look to the future for the sewer capacity we need for Allenstown's and Pembroke's rapid growth. The old China Mill is going to be turned into apartments and townhouses in the near future and this will require up to 250 additional hook ups. Several other projects are planned for Allenstown and Pembroke. I will make it my priority to reach out to the public and listen to your concerns when they arise.

I have been a resident of Allenstown for 19 years, and have sent two children through most of the school system. I have worked for the Concord Regional VNA for 13 years, providing physical therapy home care in Concord and the surrounding towns.

I have been an active member of the Budget Committee for about seven years. I try to provide the school and town what they need to operate, while trying to keep the tax rate reasonable.

I seek your support so I can continue to make a difference, to be part of our community, and to stay informed about the town and school budgets.

I have lived in Allenstown for three years as of this summer and I am involved in all sorts of volunteer and service activities.

I've held or am holding director level roles in various volunteer organizations. Those are mostly political but I'm also a Rotarian and a former member of my previous town's Energy Commission.

I want to serve on the Budget Committee for a couple of reasons, but mainly I just want to learn and gain experience, and to understand how the finances of our town are managed. I'll also bring a fresh perspective and with my inquisitive nature, I might be able to find different areas for improvement, or doing what I can to keep our tax rate low.

I am a long time resident of Allenstown and currently employed by the Town of Allenstown as the Building & Fire Department Admin. I am also a member of the Zoning Board.

I retired from UPS in 2015 after 28 years of service. I held a position in Finance for 18 years and my last 10 years was in Business Development.

I have extensive experience in record keeping and working with people, which I believe will be most valuable in the position of Supervisor of the Checklist.

Comment Allenstown Residents,

I want to thank all of the Allenstown residents who have enabled me to serve as your Town Clerk and Tax Collector for the past 8 years. I truly enjoy my job and being able to provide you all with the best service possible throughout the year.

I hope that you will give me your support once again at the polls this Tuesday, 3/10/20, as I run for another 3 year term. I hope to continue to serve Allenstown for a long time and look forward to seeing you all at Town Hall throughout the years and at the polls this Tuesday!

Also, I served a brief one-year term as a Library Trustee this past year and enjoyed it immensely. I did not sign up again, in case there was someone else who might have wanted to try for the position. No other candidate did sign up, so I would greatly appreciate it if you would write in my name for the vacant Library Trustee position.

Thank you again for your support. It really means so much to me!

I am a fan of local government! I worked at the New Hampshire Municipal Association for 27 years, supporting municipal officials and all they do to keep not just every town and city operating, but to keep the State functioning as well.

Our long-serving moderator is "retiring" and I am running to help continue Allenstown's ability to run fair and efficient town and school meetings and elections.

I will be in attendance at both "meet the candidates" events and I look forward to meeting voters then. I can also be reached at 736-8541 if anyone has questions.
