"Make It Home" by Green Heron

Summer Concert on the Town Hall Lawn

July 15, 2020

What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than at a Summer Concert in your own town. You've been dealing for months with Stay at Home admonitions from the government, constant updates on virus infections and the search for medical treatments and vaccines, unemployment for many due to business closings, school shutdowns that forced parents to have to stay home with the kids.

With state guidelines loosening up, it is finally possible to hold our long awaited first concert of the year! The Economic Development Committee developed a plan that covers all the applicable state guidelines for such an outdoor event, reviewed it with our contact at the New Hampshire Division of Economic Development, and received the approval of the Allenstown Selectmen.

So mark your calendar for Sunday August 2nd, 4-6 p.m. Green Heron, a local Bluegrass duo, is ready to take us on a melodic journey through bluegrass, folk, country, and Americana music, including many of their own compositions. Since 2016 they have been performing locally and gaining more and more followers of their unique blend of guitar, banjo, fiddle, and vocal harmonies. With two albums already released, they have made numerous appearances on local television and radio, including WMUR's New Hampshire Chronicle on July 10th.

fire dept patch The Allenstown Fire Department will provide the refreshments: hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, soft drinks, and other snacks to enjoy while taking in the concert. A big thanks goes to Fire Chief Paul St. Germain for enlisting the AFD auxiliary groups.

Parking is on the street, at town hall, or at the Dupont School next door.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Brought to you by the Allenstown Economic Development Committee.

What You Need to Do

Please pay attention to these guidelines:

  • If you are not feeling well or think you might be infected, please stay home.
  • The lawn will be marked for safe distancing. Please choose one of the designated areas for yourself and family members. Please keep your children with you during the concert.
  • Wear a mask to prevent spreading any infectious viruses. If you did not bring one, ask an EDC staffer and we can supply one.
  • Use the hand sanitizers near the food concession to keep your hands clean.
  • When walking to and from the food concession or portable toilet, stay on the paved walkway and follow the chalked arrows.
  • At the food concession, observe the chalk lines for 6-foot spacing while waiting to be served.
  • Bring lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on while enjoying the concert.
