On the afternoon of the Friday before Halloween, a few dozen intrepid souls gathered outside Town Hall to attend the Awards Ceremony and to learn the results of the contest. Despite the temps being in the upper 30s, everyone was eager to learn how things turned out. Several attendees went to the extent of wearing costumes and makeup.

After EDC chairman Michael Frascinella made some opening remarks, EDC members Jeff Venegas and Scott McDonald announced the winners and handed out the trophies and gift certificate prizes. They started with the Third Place winner and slowly worked up to the First Place winner.

Third Place - Richard and Catherine Ciampa, 13 Pine Acres Rd.

Second Place - Russ and Jackie Langille, 39 River Rd.

First Place - Jeff and Sophie Brockstedt, 6 Sullivan Drive

Every winner received a round of cheers and applause and there were smiles aplenty.

Mr. Venegas also congratulated Keith Klawes as fourth runner up. In a noble spirit of graciousness and generosity, Catherine Ciampa offered her gift certificate to Mr. Klawes, who immediately redirected it to his daughter, who had done most of the work setting up their decorations.

In closing, EDC members announced that they were pleased with all those who participated and that they were developing a Christmas Lighting Contest and would publish details in the near future.

Several attendees departed with smiles and thanks for helping to boost community spirits, while a small number lingered to chat.
