The Allenstown Economic Development Committee (EDC) is pleased to announce:

The Third Annual Halloween Lighting Contest

Schedule of Activities

Attention: Due to the slow response from residents, the registration deadline has been extended from Oct. 15 to Sunday Oct. 23. Hopefully that will give you time to get your decorations installed for us to enjoy.

  • Oct. 2 to Oct. 23 – Register your house decorations
  • Oct. 15 to Oct. 27 at 5 p.m. – Vote for best decorations
  • Oct 29, 4:00 p.m. (Saturday) – Attend Awards Ceremony featuring prizes for Best Decorations

Winners will be announced and prizes awarded at the Awards Ceremony at Blueberry Express Park (Town Hall lawn) on Saturday, October 29th at 4:00 p.m. Awards for the Best Halloween Decorations are to include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies and gift certificates to local businesses.

Halloween is on Monday October 31st and we hope the powers that be do not prohibit kids from trick-or-treating.

What You Need to Do

First, starting on October 2nd until October 15, you need to register your Allenstown home. Send an e-mail to the Halloween Contest Registration Address.

Include your name, street address, and one or two photos of your decorations. The photo is required so that residents can preview your decorations and then find them after dark.

Second, from October 2 till October 15, residents should keep checking the Halloween Lighting Contest web page to view photos of the homes that are participating in the contest. Drive around town, check them out in person, and decide which one you like the most.

Third, from October 15 till October 27 at 5 p.m., send e-mail with your name and your vote to the Halloween Contest Voting Address. You may vote for your own decorations since that guarantees you at least one vote.

Fourth, come to the Halloween Lighting Awards Ceremony at Town Hall on Saturday, October 29th at 4:00 p.m. and celebrate! Awards will be announced for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
