Several Events Planned for Later This Year

Dateline: July 29, 2023

The Allenstown Economic Development Committee (EDC) is planning several events for September, October, and December.

Sunday September 10
Bob DePaolo Concert and Cruise Night
^&By combining the flute, keyboard, conga drums, and harmonica, Bob DePaolo interprets the music of Jethro Tull, Dylan, Santana, Vanity Fair, Eric Clapton, the Beatles, Stevie Wonder, and others in a one-man band format. The concert takes place at Blueberry Express Park in front of Town Hall at 16 School St. and runs from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. At the same time, a Cruise Night will take place in the field next to Town Hall.

Saturday September 30
Family Movie Night
^&Are you ready for an inexpensive family night? The EDC is collaborating with the Allenstown Fire Department to host this event. This is a family event for residents so bring the kids for "A Night at the Fire Station." The Fire Engines will be moved out of the equipment bays, and a large screen and sound system will be set up. Bring your own chairs or cushions.

On the menu will be a variety of simple entrees like cheeseburgers and hot dogs, soft drinks and chips, offered at a minimal charge. The dinner starts at 5:00 p.m. and the FREE movie starts at 6:00 p.m. The movie title will be announced in the near future.

October
Halloween Lighting Contest
^&At this annual event, town residents get to show off their most gruesome Halloween decorations and lights. Residents register by sending in a photo or two of their decorations and other residents vote for best decorations. All registered homes are displayed on the town web site. Winners receive prizes at an outdoor awards ceremony.

December
Christmas Lighting Contest
^&At this annual event, town residents get to show off their most appealing Christmas decorations and lights. Residents register by sending in a photo or two of their decorations and other residents vote for best decorations. All registered homes are displayed on the town web site. Winners receive prizes at an outdoor awards ceremony.

To liven up the ceremony, Santa and his elves will tour the town in his big red sled and be given a Police and Fire Dept. escort.
